Thu, 19 February 2009 Episode 18: Natural ReVerberations (36:16)
A Verb for Keeping Warm, as well as its founder and owner Kristine Vejar, transcends a simple definition. A business that sells naturally-dyed yarns and fibers and all manner of tools to use those fibers (spindles, wheels, looms, knitting patterns), it's also creating its own unique community (in the Bay Area and online) through education and celebration of traditions and textiles for knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers, dyers and all people who do labor-intensive work with their hands. Hear how Kristine's childhood connection to sewing and quilting took her to India and the origin of Verb's inspiration. The following people and topics were mentioned:
For all you bookworms, the following books are recommended by Kristine (get ready to Google!):

I would like to enter the Slipstream Sock Pattern contest. The Verb yarn color I like best for these is Kerala. I am an "Autumn" and I don't have any handknit socks or sock yarn in the brown tones, so I'd love to try this!

My favorite sock yarn color at the verb is kerala because it's a woodsy color that reminds me of going north to stay at the cabin in the woods and to cuddle by the fireplace.
